Selecting Bath and Body Fragrances

Everyone has heard the saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and beauty is only skin deep, while this may be true everyone likes to feel beautiful to themselves. For women especially, having the right bath and body fragrances can help one see themselves as more appealing and act in a more confident manner. But choosing the right fragrances for the situation and your personality is important.

All women are unique, and so their fragrances should be equally unique. The first in a repertoire of bath and body fragrances should be very basic and able to be worn for both work and social occasions. Ideally it should be rather understated and a fragrance that you smell and just know that it works for you.

This is your everyday fragrance. And always remember that you should only ever wear one scent at a time. The chemical interaction between different scents can spoil all the fragrances and be something not pleasant. Even if it has been twelve hours since you last applied your fragrance, the chemicals will still linger and will interfere with a different scent. When in doubt, wipe down your skin with a wet cloth before changing perfumes.

All of your bath and body fragrances should be pleasant and subtle. You really only need a small daub since no one wants to be the one person in the elevator making everyone else’s eyes water. Stronger smelling fragrances should not be used for work environments but do hold their fragrance longer than softer smells.

You should never purchase a fragrance before you have tried it. Sometimes the smallest things will alter a fragrance like your skin type, laundry detergent, or clothing type. The only way to know if it will work is to spritz it on and see if the smell is still appealing to you. Fragrance experts suggest testing scents in the middle of the day since research suggests this is when the sense of smell is the most active.

More importantly than your actual bath fragrances is how you wear them. Learning to apply the fragrance to appropriate areas of the body will increase the length of time that the scent lingers without reapplication. Layering the fragrance with a matching shower gel or scented powder is also a great idea to enhance the scent.
